Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is seeking a competent and highly motivated Finance Manager to join our team in Afghanistan. In this vital role, under NCA's Country Director (CD), you will have the exciting opportunity to oversee and further develop the financial team, provide sound leadership, as well as build internal capacity of staff and local partners. The NCA programmes in Afghanistan are Economic Empowerment, WASH, peacebuilding, and humanitarian assistance. NCA works in cooperation with local Afghan organizations to strengthen community ties through locally driven projects.
As Finance Manager, you are part of NCA’s senior management team. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for all financial management matters relating to the Afghanistan program. You have excellent communication skills and can communicate across all areas of the organization and with colleagues at all levels, from senior leadership to national staff employees. You are flexible and able to easily adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging environment.

Duties and responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for financial processes.
- Ensure proper financial monitoring systems are in place such that financial processes comply with NCA’s routines, guidelines, and donor regulations.
- Participate in the Senior Management Team so that the team can work together across divisions to provide outstanding programmes.
- Develop the capacity of our staff within finance, accounting and administration.
- Responsible for further developing the section through recruitment as well as personnel management.
- Training and mentoring of partners.
Qualifications
- Relevant education in Finance, Management or Accounting.
- Five years’ practical experience from finance and accounting along with experience as a manager or supervisor.
- Understand the financial team’s role in providing outstanding programmes.
- An understanding about donor and NGO regulations, processes and systems.
- Background from training and mentoring of local staff.
- Proficiency in English, written and oral. Other languages are an advantage.
- Experience from working in challenging environments.
