NCA began its work in Sudan in 1972, and currently we have four offices across the country, covering South and Central Darfur, South Kordofan, Khartoum and Gedaref states. Under the current Country Strategy (2020-2024), addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is one of our main priorities, where our goal is for women and girls to live empowered lives free from GBV.
As our Head of GBV in Sudan, you will be overall responsible for NCA Sudan’s work with authorities, local communities, and faith actors to prevent GBV, including FGM, and CEFM. You will further invest in long-term development to address the root causes of GBV, as well as provide emergency assistance in humanitarian and conflict settings.
The position is a fixed-term 1-year contract assignment based in Khartoum with travel to the field

Overall sector, project, and personnel management of integrated GBV, Safeguarding, and Protection activities, ensuring technically sound interventions and support, compliance, and accountability
Coordinate with relevant internal/external stakeholders and actors within GBV/protection, positioning NCA as key leading GBV response agency
Ensure quality and timely project reporting
Capacity building of staff and partners on i.e. GBViE programming, Psychological First Aid, Caring for Survivors
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with national partners
Master's Degree in Social Science, Public Health, Humanities, Gender Studies, Social Work, Nursing, Midwifery, Psychology, International Development or similar
Minimum of 5-8 years professional experience related to GBV and managing a multi-cultural team in conflict and post conflict settings.
Professional experience related to GBV prevention and response, safeguarding and protection programming in conflict and post conflict settings. Experience from Sudan is an asset.
Experience with developing and implementing GBV programmes, particularly monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge of international humanitarian standards, best practices, key international policy processes and frameworks related to GBV prevention, protection, and response
Solid experience in training and capacity building, particularly using participatory approaches and methods in and for training related to different components of GBV programming.
Fluency in English. Arabic language proficiency is highly desirable and would be a significant asset.
